Project Overview

A major university required self-leveling overlays across multiple floors of a new campus building. The existing concrete substrates had significant elevation differences that needed correction before final flooring could be installed.

Scope of Work

We prepared substrates across multiple levels using shot-blasting, applied moisture mitigation systems where needed, and pumped cementitious self-leveling compound to achieve a perfectly flat surface. The project covered over 30,000 sq ft across several phases.

Challenges & Solutions

Coordinating pours across an active construction site with multiple trades required careful scheduling and fast cure times. We used rapid-set self-leveling products that allowed other trades to resume work within 24 hours of each pour. Moisture testing identified several areas requiring vapor barrier installation before the leveler could be applied.

Results

Every floor met flatness specifications for the final flooring installation. The polished self-leveler sections now serve as the finished floor in several high-traffic corridors, providing a clean, modern aesthetic with minimal maintenance requirements.
